I grew up in the Blue Ridge mountains of North Carolina, a place that taught me to pay attention to landscape, community, and the stories that don't travel far. That instinct followed me to Washington D.C., where I study political science and journalism, and to Cairo, where I study the Middle East, Arabic, and the art and architecture of one of the world's oldest cities.
I approach photography the same way I approach reporting: by getting close, staying patient, and letting the subject lead. I'm interested in documentary work that captures place and people honestly, without imposing an external narrative. I also study art and architecture, which shapes how I think about framing, light, and the built environment as a form of storytelling.
